Canberra 2026 Summer Nature Group
Join us for a three‑day Summer Nature Group for adults in Canberra January 2026. The program brings together small‑group occupational therapy, everyday life‑skills practice and time in local green spaces to support participants to feel good and function well.
Over three days, the group explores gentle outdoor walks, simple meal preparation, and a supported community shopping trip. Activities are designed to help adults with and without disability build confidence in areas like planning and making food, budgeting, communication and navigating community spaces.
Sessions are led by an occupational therapist with support from allied health assistants, using Coree’s THRIVE in Nature approach to tune in to the environment, use nature for regulation, and link new skills back to everyday life. The group is kept small so each person can work towards their own goals, with a focus on safety, choice and inclusion.
Families and support networks receive a short summary at the end of the intensive outlining key strengths, strategies that were helpful, and practical ideas for continuing nature‑based activities and life‑skills practice at home, in day programs or in the community.
